About Us
MOIRA is an Incorporated Association which provides a range of support services for people with disabilities and youth in crisis in and throughout the Southern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne and throughout Victoria.
MOIRA aims to ensure that all of its services are community-based and client-centred.
At MOIRA our objective is to ensure that all programs are centred in the community, and are client driven and centred. We strive to work effectively with people in need and to respond flexibly and swiftly as individual requirements dictate. We work closely with State and Commonwealth Government departments, Local Councils, and other service providers; but ensure that our own culture of client and family centred programs drives our agenda.
MOIRA is a person centred organisation which provides a wide range of services to support people with disabilities, their families and carers, and youth in crisis. We endeavour to respond to individual needs by working with people creatively and constructively. People’s aspirations and life goals form an integral part of our relationship with them.
Many of our activities are offered as part of programs funded through the Department of Human Services though an increasing number of people are working with us on an individual fee-for-service basis to develop a range of support activities tailored individually to their requirements. The following provides a broad description of our main areas of activity. More detailed brochures are available for each program or service in the resources section.
