Specific Programs
Breakaway O’meara House
Located in Ringwood East, O’Meara House is a five day respite holiday for adults (16-65 years) with a psychiatric
illness. Operated by the Mental Illness Fellowship, the aim is to provide guests with an opportunity to relax, meet new people and try new activities whilst also enabling their carer to have a break from their usual caring role. The program has a recreational and social focus and guests are involved in the planning of all activities. The program is supported 24 hours/day by trained staff. “Speciality” weeks are available for youth and women.

Reach Out Southern Mental Health
Eligibility : People with mental illness and their families
RESOURCE CENTRE.
A day program with a variety of skills, recreational and personal development activities for people who wish improve their lives and manage their illness. For people aged between 16-64 in the middle south area
SAILS
(Supported Accommodation and Independent Living Skills). One on one outreach support to assist people develop or regain their independent living skills and managing their lives. For people aged between 16-64 in the middle south area
CONQUEST EMPLOYMENT.
An open employment program specifically for people with mental illness who wish to find work or who job is in jeopardy. Information provided and assistance available.
FAMILY & CARER SERVICES. Information packs, support groups for all ages who live with or care about a person with a mental illness. No boundaries apply to these services

Southern Respite Services
Southern Respite Services, a program of Mind Australia, offers a planned respite service to carers and people with a psychiatric disability aged 16-64 years in the Southern Metropolitan region of Melbourne. Southern Respite Services provides a temporary break from the usual care and support arrangements for a person with a psychiatric disability. It aims to support and help sustain relationships between carers and people with a psychiatric disability. Both parties benefit from this respite service.
