Interchange

The Interchange Volunteer Host program matches a child or young person with a disability to a volunteer host, who has the child to stay on a regular basis - usually one day or one weekend per month. The care is provided on a regular basis within the volunteer’s own home and these arrangements are flexible to suit the volunteer’s and families’ needs.

Shared Family Care & Foster Care

Through the Shared Family Care scheme foster families care for children up to 16 years who have a disability or are developmentally delayed. The child’s stay with the foster family is a temporary arrangement and may be planned or in emergency situations; for short or long periods. Availability of foster families will determine the ability for a particular child to be placed. Foster families are provided with training prior to caring for children, and on-going back-up and support is provided.
