Here's a list of our most commonly asked questions about working at MOIRA.

Q. What type of work is involved?
A. MOIRACare provides workers with a variety of different work situations. We have recreation programs e.g. Camps, School Holiday Programs, Youth Groups, residential facilities, support in a home environment and community support. These can be one on one or in a group setting.


Q. What are the hours?
A. Hours can vary according to the individual client/program. We have workers who shift allocations of only a few hours per week with an individual client through to full time hours in our residential facilities. The majority of the hours are afternoon/evenings and weekend work.


Q. Do I need a car?
A. No. Most shifts are in home or public transport can be used. However, a license and a fully comprehensively insured car will allow greater flexibility with allocating clients who may require transportation.


Q. What will be the rate of pay?
A. MOIRACare operates under an EBA which pays above award wages.


Q. Do I need qualifications?
A. It is preferred that you have a minimum of Certificate IV in Disability although this is not essential as training is provided. Traineeships are also offered.


Q. What areas does MOIRA cover?
A. MOIRA covers the Southern Region of Melbourne predominately the five inner southern local government areas
(Bayside, Glen Eira, Port Phillip, Kingston and Stonnington).


Q. Who are the clients you deal with?
A. Our clients range from 0-65 with a wide range of disabilities including autism, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy.
