The Financial Intermediary (F.I.) service assists people with disabilities to manage their Individual Support Package (ISP) by paying for supports on their behalf and in line with their approved funding plan.
We do this by:
- Receiving the person’s funding directly from the Department of Human Services (DHS)
- Setting up an individual ‘account’ foreach person making payments to service providers and suppliers on the person’s behalf
- Keeping track of the type and amount of expenditure for each person
- Providing up-to-date information to the person about their expenditure and funds availability
Put simply, we hold money on behalf of a person with a disability and pay for approved services when the person authorises us to do so.
