Volunteer Recreation Worker


The Role

Volunteers are required to work with children with disabilities in regular Youth Groups, School Holiday Programs and Camps.
The recreation programs offer a range of activities including excursions, picnics, movies, swimming and much more! (all volunteer activity expenses are covered by Interchange Southern). These programs provide children with the opportunity to make new friends and develop self confidence as well as providing valuable respite for the child’s family members.
Volunteers support the children on a 1:1 basis under the supervision of an Interchange staff member.
The Region
Interchange Southern provides services to families in the Southern Metropolitan region of Melbourne, including the cities of Bayside, Kingston, Glen Eira, Stonnington and Port Phillip.
Qualifications/ Skills Required
No formal qualifications necessary. An interest in working with children with disabilities would be an advantage. Satisfactory completion of the screening process, including a Police Check, and references is required.
Commitment
Saturdays or Sundays or during the School Holidays.
Training
Individual and group training provided.
