Volunteer Host Carers
The Role
A Host Volunteer develops a relationship with a child/young person who may have a range of support needs. Volunteer Hosts can be single or in a relationship, with or without children of their own. Hosting can be as little as 6 hours per month and the child/young person gains additional friendships and experiences while spending time with their host.
The Region
Interchange Southern provides services to families in the Southern Metropolitan region of Melbourne, including the cities of Bayside, Kingston, Glen Eira, Stonnington and Port Phillip.
Qualifications/ Skills Required
No formal qualifications necessary. An interest in working with children with disabilities would be an advantage. Satisfactory completion of the screening process, including a Police Check and references is required.
Commitment
12 month commitment required
Training
Individual and group training provided. Potential volunteers are invited to a group “Information Session”
