National Volunteer Week

National Volunteer Week this year ran from the
14 - 20 May and is the largest celebration of volunteers and volunteerism in Australia.

It provides an an opportunity to highlight the role of volunteers in our community and to say thank you to the more than 6.4 million Australians who volunteer each year.

NVW is celebrated in a number of different ways across Australia depending on the organisations and individuals involved. Formal ceremonies, morning teas, picnics, exhibitions and a whole range of events are held, as well as more informal events and private acts of recognition, all with the purpose of celebrating the work that volunteers do in our community and thanking them for the contribution they make to peoples lives.

At MOIRA we value our volunteers and rely hugely on the vital support they offer. Without them we wouldn’t be able to carry out all the great work we do.

We’re always on the look out for volunteers and Bridie and Lou from Interchange were down at Westfield Southland spreading the word and letting everyone know what it’s all about at their great Interchange Southern stand.

There are many ways you can volunteer with MOIRA, to see what volunteer opportunities we have available or apply as a volunteer visit our Get Involved section.

We’d love to have you on board!
