At the conclusion of his 2004 Annual General Meeting address, our C.E.O. Warwick Cavanagh made the following commitment statement on behalf of MOIRA . This statement embodies the ethos and spirit in which MOIRA drives itself as an organisation:
1. I commit that this Agency will work tirelessly and creatively to develop and deliver services which support people with disabilities and homeless youth; that such services will be flexible and inclusive, tailored to meet the needs of the individual rather than externally imposed restrictions.
2. I commit that this Agency will not shrink from the difficult challenge; that we will continue to seek solutions to problems, rather than excuses for avoiding them.
3. I commit that we will continue to work with people whose problems are more difficult than most, and that we will perceive issues of liability and risk as exactly that; as factors in the equation rather than insurmountable obstacles.
4. I commit that this Agency will work co- operatively within the community to enhance the rights of people with disabilities and homeless youth; that in issues of injustice and inequity we will speak up, we will not remain silent.
5. I commit this Agency to support, but also to lead. |
